Regresa ® is a registered trademark of Brentwood Plastics, Inc. and refers to our films which include a catalyst which hastens the degradation of polyethylene to a few years instead of the approximate 300 year half life.

Regresa is Spanish for
go back; return”.

If we could turn back the
hands of time and use the Regresa ® bag there would be millions less paper and plastic bags in the landfill.

Service life of the Regresa ® bag = 18 months (76 weeks)

cotton or woven polypropylene reusable bags.

 Background

In many countries it is customary for the grocery shopper to bring their own bags. In the US, the bags are expected to be given free and grocers have historically preferred single-use bags for ease of operations and checkout speed. These customs intersected in 1990 at Makro, a hypermarket which had a presence in Cincinnati, OH. Makro is a Netherlands company which offered customers a choice between a reusable bag or discarded corrugated. This proved shoppers will purchase a reusable bag when offered a choice. Makro was importing the bags from Spain. After searching through literally dozens of potential suppliers, Brentwood Plastics was the only viable domestic source. Prior to closing their Cincinnati operations, we supplied over 350,000 bags to Makro. Plastic bags have become a victim of their own success. Grocers prefer them because they occupy little space and cost less than a penny. Paper bags cost over three cents and take up a lot of space.

 Our Solution

Using durables instead of disposables is a way to reduce. We believe a durable grocery bag should cost less than $1.00.

The suggested retail price of $ 0.99 is competitive with most popular priced reusable bags.

We believe the time is right for a low cost reusable bag. Our brand new bag has the same dimensions as the Makro bag with a plastic zipper. The carrying capacity is twice that of a disposable bag and will last for years with care. So one bag used once a week prevents 228 bags from becoming litter or going to the landfill.

 Testimonials

I have been using your bags on an almost daily basis. Two days a week I leave the office & head straight to the barn. I am able to put my Carhart overalls & smelly barn jacket in the bag and bring it into the office without stinking the place up! LOL!  I hate putting my Carharts on when they have been in the car all day & are cold.     Tammie B., Fairfield, OH

By simply displaying the bags at the raffle table we cleared $78. Our guests felt like they were helping the environment as they left for only $0.99. Next event, we're ordering at least three cases. A. J., Indian Hill, OH
